2nd Phase Of Budget Session: MLAs To Undergo Antigen COVID Test

Bhubaneswar: All the MLAs will undergo antigen tests for COVID-19 before the second phase of Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly, scheduled to begin from March 12. Only those who test negative will be allowed to enter the House.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to check the spread of the virus, said Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro.

A temporary camp will be set up in the assembly premises for conducting the tests of the MLAs.

Besides ministers and MLAs, their personal staff, security officers, drivers, assembly security personnel, assembly staff, mediapersons, and other service providers will also have to undergo Covid tests, stated Patro.

Meanwhile, Odisha registered 57 Covid-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases in Odisha mounted to 3,37,860.
