266 women recruit constables join Odisha Police after passing out parade in city


Bhubaneswar: As many as 266 women recruit constables of 24th batch from 21 districts across the State joined the Odisha Police after the Passing Out parade at Urban Police (UP) in Traffic Training Institute (TTI) at Laxmisagar area here on Tuesday.

Police DG B.K. Sharma was the chief guest of the programme and he took the ceremonial salute. The event was chaired by Sudhanshu Sarangi, Commissioner of Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and he also took the ceremonial salute by inaugurating the programme.

Sharma inspected the parade and also congratulated the newly recruit constables for successful completion of the training programme. He also called upon them to perform their duty with utmost sincerity and honesty.

“A policeman needs to be well-behaved polite and gentle while dealing with citizens. Constables are the foundation stone of state police organisation. The CM of Odisha will be launching “Mo Sarkar” programme on October 2. They have a huge responsibility to successfully implement this programme, said Sharma.

He also advised the women recruit constables to upkeep the image of Odisha Police by rendering self-less and dedicated services to the citizen.

Recruit constables Sajani Sahoo of Puri, Dipali Barik of Bolangir and Madhumati Balabantrai of Khurda secured the pole positions in respective order. Additionally, Parbati Sahoo of Jajpur won in the ‘Best Discipline’ category.

Parade Commander Suryakant Mohanty, ACP Training UP and TTI, and Second-in-commander Bhogaban Panigrahi, RI of Police, UP, and TTI were also part of the event.
