2 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists shot dead in Kupwara, One identified

Srinagar: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara on Tuesday in an early-morning security operation, police have said. According to a tweet by Kashmir Zone Police, they were killed in amid a gunfight between the security officials and the terrorists, which broke in early hours of the day in the Chaktaras Kandi area of the district.

One of the terrorists has been identified as Tufail. He was a Pakistani national, the officials informed. “Two terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT including one Pakistani terrorist namely Tufail killed. Search still going on,” the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

This comes a day after, another LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) terrorist was killed in an encounter in the Sopore town of Baramulla district. As per the documents recovered from the Pakistani terrorist, his name was Hanzalla and he was a resident of Lahore.
