2 Indian Air Force pilots captured, says Pakistan


New Delhi/Islamabad: Pakistan claimed on Wednesday that it has captured two Indian pilots, one of whom was identified as Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

The report said the identity of the other is not known.

India has not confirmed it. Official sources said Abhinandan is in the ranks of the Indian Air Force (IAF). He is a son of a retired Air Marshal.

Abhinandan was commissioned in 2004, the sources said.

The Pakistani news channel has been showing the video of the captured pilot, but the veracity is yet to be established.

The other pilot said to be captured by Pakistan authorities  is in hospital.
