Sambalpur: Five doctors and 10 nurses of Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur district have been sent on quarantine after they were exposed to a COVID-19 positive patient, sources said.
A co-morbid disease patient from Kuchinda area in the district was admitted to the VIMSAR and undergoing treatment. However, he tested positive for coronavirus.
After the patient tested positive for coronavirus, about five doctors and 10 nurses have been sent for quarantine immediately. Of them, two doctors, who are said to be at high risk of contracting the corona infection from the COVID patient, have been asked to remain under quarantine for a period of 14 days. The remaining 13 COVID warriors including 3 doctors have been sent to the quarantine centres till their COVID test results come out.
Meanwhile, the patient has now been shifted to the isolation ward for COVID-19 treatment.
