Balasore: Launching a crackdown on black-marketing, police seized 1400 litres of diesel near Godikhala under Basta police station limits in Balasore district yesterday. Besides, police arrested two smugglers in this connection.
The arrested accused persons have been identified as Dilip Patra and Tapas Barik from Solapata village under Bahabalpur police station limits.
Reportedly, during night patrolling Amarda Road outpost police spotted the speeding vehicle and chased it to stop. Later, the cops intercepted the vehicle and seized 1400litres of diesel filled in seven barrels along with the pickup van which is used in smuggling.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway into the matter.
