14 hurt, 2 critical in two separate road mishaps


Mayurbhanj/ Brhamagiri: At least 14 persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in Mayurbhanj and Puri districts on Friday morning.

In the first instance, as many as 12 passengers sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in overturned near Katasa village under Bisoi police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the private bus named Agrawal was headed to Debgarh from Kolkata. The driver of the bus lost control over the wheels resulting in the accident near Katasa village at around 4 am.

The passengers were rescued and rushed to the Bisoi community health centre. Two persons among the injured are stated to be in critical condition.

In the second incident, two persons sustained critical injuries as an ambulance overturned near Sana Bandhakera in Brahmagiri.

Others were rescued and admitted to nearby hospital. Police reached the spot and seized the vehicle.
