Bhubaneswar: As many as 11 individuals and two social organizations were conferred upon the prestigious ‘Pradyumna Bal Seva Samman’ on the 90th birth anniversary of the founder of the Pragativadi, Pradyumna Bal and golden jubilee celebration of the Pragativadi here on Monday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated them with certificate and citation with cash reward.
The winner of ‘Pradyumna Bal Seva Samman’ are: Sarat Chandra Nayak (social activist), Dasia Ajaa (awarded posthumously), Dukhisyam Behera (culture researcher),Dipi Manika Tappo (Hockey player), Umakant Bal (ideal teacher), Abdul Samad Nizam (Visually challenged Musician) Kamalakant Rout (Newspaper distributor), Sarbeswar Bardhan (senior journalist), Abhisek Sahoo (youngest social worker), Bhaskar Maharana (artist).
Two organisations- Ashayen and Ama Ashram- were also jointly felicitated. Ashayen is an organisation which has played a major role in imparting education to slum area children. Similarly, Ama Ashram has been extending social and financial assistance to poor and downtrodden families.
Likewise, 40 students from various schools, colleges and universities who were shortlisted for the Pradyumna Bal Prativa Samman, were awarded on the occasion.
