Yogi Adityanath emerges as BJP’s emphatic poster-boy, says party victory in Odisha easy

Bhubaneswar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath’s position and elevation in the BJP was clearly visible at the BJP National Executive Meeti that begun at the Janata Maidan here on Saturday.

Aditya Nath’s life-size posters of swearing-in ceremony were pasted right opposite the main dais which carried the photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders.

At the outset Aditya Nath said, “BJP would get thumping majority of votes in the 2019 election; the reality has been revealed to the people as BJD government has failed to uplift development in Odisha despite being in power for 17 years. Development of infrastructure and other amenities seems still a distant dream for Odisha as 47 per cent of the population is still below poverty line.

Aditya Nath (44), a five-term Parliamentarian from Gorakhpur constituency and the mascot of Hindutva, is valued quite high in the party and has emerged as its popular face. The posters of several prominent party leaders were installed outside the meeting venue.
