Women’s Asia Cup T20: India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets to reach final

Kuala Lumpur: The Indian women’s cricket team sailed into the final of the Women’s Asia Cup T20 tournament after defeating arch-rivals Pakistan at the Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

Opting to bat, Pakistan managed to score a paltry 72 for the loss of seven wickets. Sana Mir top-scored for the side with 20 runs. Left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was the most successful India bowler.

Chasing the target, India completed the task with as many as 23 balls to spare. After early dismissal of Mithali Raj (0) and Deepti Sharma (0), Smriti Mandhana (38) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (34 not out) stitched a solid partnership and added 65 runs for third wicket.

India entered the final of the tournament with the win and will face the winner of Bangladesh Women vs Malaysia Women match.
