Woman Maoist cadre gunned down in Malkangiri, 3 surrender
Malkalgiri: A woman Maoist cadre was killed and three more surrendered following a gunfight that took place between the rebels and the security forces early on Friday morning at Andrapali forest under Chitrakonda area in Malkangiri district.
Reportedly, the fire exchange began during a joint operation launched in the area by Malkangiri’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and Andhra Pradesh’s Greyhound.
The security personnel also seized the map of Tangapala area along with a huge cache of arms and explosives including materials required to build an improvised explosive device (IED) from the location, said Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Meena.
A search operation in the area in order to nab other rebels is underway, informed Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena.
