Cuttack: A woman activist of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) allegedly slapped a lady police during a protest near Badamba block office in Athagarh in Cuttack on Thursday.
According to sources, hundreds of BJP activists, including women, took out a rally today protesting against the State Government over a number of issues, including corruption and PC (percentage) culture in the State.
During the protest, a woman activist scuffled with a on -duty lady constable when the latter was trying to trying to disperse the crowd. The woman activist abused and slapped the lady constable.
Meanwhile, other police personnel present on the spot intervened and took control of the situation.
The saffron party activists took out the protest to raise issues like closure of the Badamba sugar mill, irregularities in distribution of ration cards under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and poor road connectivity in the area.
