Dharamsala: Team India captain Virat kohli has raised the speculation about his absence in the fourth India-Australia Test to be played in Dharamsala, starting from Saturday. The captain said, he is under medication for an injury at his right shoulder that he had suffered during the drawn Ranchi Test last week.
In a press conference in Dharamsala, Kohli said, “he will only take the field if he is fully fit.”
On the eve of the match, Kohli said there would be no special treatment even for the best batsman in the side and he added that he would take the field only if he is 100 per cent fit.
Two days before the fourth and final Test, the Indian cricket team has called up uncapped batsman Shreyas Iyer as cover for their skipper.
Iyer, 22-year old, was the highest scoring batsman of Mumbai in 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. He had also scored an unbeaten 202 runs in a match for India A against Australia last month.
