Bengaluru: A week after Vishal Sikka quit as the CEO and managing director of Infosys, it is known that Sikka is likely on the move to join Hewlett Packard (HP) shortly as chief technical officer (CTO).
Last year, Martin Fink, the CTO of HPE, had stepped down. The company has not filled that position. Sikka is said to have been offered that role. Sikka, who has a doctorate in artificial intelligence from Stanford, was the CTO of German enterprise software maker SAP before joining Infosys three years ago.
On August 18, Sikka stepped down as the MD and CEO of Infosys citing a constant drumbeat of accusations and allegations, which was undermining his ability to focus on steering the IT giant towards its transformations path.
Interestingly, a day before Sikka stepped down, media reported that Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy made a statement that Sikka made a better CTO than a CEO.
