Vigilance uncovers RWSS clerk’s assets worth Rs 1.71 cr


Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance raided houses and office of clerk-cum-cashier, Pabitra Mohan Mohanty of RWSS (PH Div-II) and found assets worth Rs 1.71 crore on Thursday here. The raid was conducted basing on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income against him.

Locations raided by the Vigilance team include his triple-storey building at Matiapada in Puri, another triple-storey building at Sudarsan Nagar in Puri, his paternal house at Sanabasanta village in Brahmagiri, work space at Bhubaneswar, office room of his wife at Nilachakra Project Primary School at Puri and rented house at Rameswarpatna in Bhubaneswar.

His assets traced by the sleuths were two triple-storey buildings worth Rs 51 lakh, six plots at Puri and Bhubaneswar of Rs 35 lakh, household articles of Rs 7 lakh, gold and silver ornaments of Rs 7 lakh, cash of Rs 2.5 lakh, and bank deposits of Rs 58 lakh and insurance coverage of Rs 3 lakh.
