Bhubaneswar: The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be immersed in the Mahodadhi in Puri on Thursday, said State BJP spokesperson Golak Mohapatra.
Mohapatra said that State party president Basanta Panda would fly to Bhubaneswar from New Delhi with the ashes on Wednesday. Later, it would be kept at the party’s state headquarters for people to pay their tributes.
“The ashes of the late former Prime Minister will be taken in a procession to Puri via Uttara Chhak and the Old Bhubaneswar-Puri road on Thursday for immersion at Mahodadhi in Puri with traditional rituals,” Mohapatra said.
The next day, there will be an all-party assembly at the Exhibition Ground here in memory of the great leader, he added.
