Bhubaneswar: The State Government has expedited the land identification process to set up a second (rural) campus of the Utkal University at Chandikhol in Jajpur district.
The Government has identified 66.30 acre in Siha panchayat, 12 km from Chandikhol. A team of university will visit the site for a review of the process.
Sources said the rural campus would be established on 66.30 acres of land and it would offer new courses. The construction work would start after completion of the land identification process and getting nod from the Revenue Department.
A five-member team including university Vice-Chancellor Manmath Biswal had visited the site on Wednesday and had discussions with the elected representatives of the area and revenue officials.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced the second campus of the university during the foundation day ceremony of its Students’ Union two years ago.
