Sundergarh: Two persons including an official of CMS Company were yesterday held by police for allegedly involved in looting Rs 26 lakh from a SBI ATM at Gurundia near Bonai in Sundergarh district. The company was entrusted with the job of loading cash in ATMs.
The SBI branch manager had lodged a complaint on Monday over the issue of cash loot from the teller machine. The accused had also looted the CPU of a CCTV camera which was installed in the ATM room while the other camera was not functioning.
However, the matter came to light after CMS officials informed the bank authorities regarding the loot and as the teller machine was found unbroken, police suspected over involvement of cash loading officials in the loot.
The arrested persons are being interrogated by police to trace other miscreants involved in the theft.
