Two construction workers arrested for raping minor girl in Boudh


Boudh: Police on Monday arrested two construction workers for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl near Bapujinagar under Boudh police limits in the district.

The accused were identified as Phitu Badhei (25) of Tutusingha village and Tuku Kumbhar (24) of Bapujinagar.

According to police, the accused were working as construction labours nearby the victim’s house. The duo called the minor girl last evening when she was standing alone in front of her house and forcibly  took her inside the under construction building tying her mouth and hand with the cloth she had wore.

There Phitu raped her while Tuku escorted him in the crime. They fled the spot soon after committing the crime.

The victim was rescued by a relative aunt of her after she was found crawling out of the under construction building.

The minor’s family members lodged a police complaint at Boudh police station after she narrated her ordeal before them.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the duo.

The accused will be forwarded to the court today and the victim has been sent for medical examination, informed police.
