Twenty found dengue positive in State capital

Bhubaneswar: A total of 20 persons tested positive for dengue cases in the city in past one month. Out of the total cases, 16 cases have been reported within a week, official sources said.

Five people are undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital here. Three patients were referred to the SCB medical college and hospital at Cuttack.

RK Jena, additional district medical officer (public health) Bhubaneswar, said most of the patients are contracted dengue in other places outside the city. Some of them have travel history before they diagnosed for the disease, he added.

“The situation is not alarming. No death case is reported from the city. But we have kept close watch on this issue. A meeting will be held at the office of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on July 24 for preparedness of dengue,” said Jena.
