Bhubaneswar: State transport minister Ramesh Majhi today said that all speed breakers on state and National Highways will be removed and rumblers will replace them. The transport department held a review meeting today following the recent bus accident in Angul on October 25.
“We will take strict action against overloaded buses. Not only will the bus be seized but the driving license of the driver will be cancelled and action will be taken against the driver too,” said Majhi. “The speed breakers on state and national highways will also be removed within a month’s time. They will be replaced with rumblers,” he added.
The minister had earlier ordered probe of the Angul accident that claimed six lives. Another bus accident in September on the same route had killed around 20 passengers.
