Cuttack: Even as the sheep deaths in Niali area of Cuttack district continued to be shrouded in mystery and the killer animals remained elusive despite efforts of the administration, three more sheep were killed at Jamugaradi village on Wednesday night.
Furious over the Forest Department’s failure in tracking the killer animals, locals staged a road blockade at Kaliaghai Square on the Niali- Phulnakhara road in the morning with the carcasses of their livestock demanding compensation.
Vehicular communication on the road was disrupted for quite some time due to the blockade.
Meanwhile, the special team from the Similipal National Park has expedited its efforts to trap the killer animals.
The team is equipped with tranquilizer guns and drone cameras to trace out the wild animals.
