Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick today informed that auction of three mining blocks will be completed by May.
The auction will include two iron ore blocks including Sudergarh’s Netrabandha and Keonjhar’s Kalamunda with Garamura limestone block, Mallick said.
“In 2016-17 fiscal, Odisha has registered sharp decline in mining revenue due to fall of iron ore demand in international market. Revenue generated from mining sector has decreased by Rs 2500 crore this year. The State Government has collected Rs 4500 crore mining revenue this year against a target of Rs 6500 crore,” he added.
Six more mining blocks would also be auctioned by March of 2018, Mallick stated.
