Bhubaneswar: The opposition today attacked Naveen Patnaik government in assembly over the growing collection of ‘PC’ and rising corruption in government offices in the state.
Criticizing the BJD government, Opposition Chief Whip, Tara Prasad Bahinipati threatened to follow ‘assault formula’ to stop the practice, beginning from the Third Floor.
With the support of the BJP, the Opposition Congress today grilled the government in Assembly over growing collection of ‘PC’ in the state, even as opposition chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati threatened to follow ‘assault formula’ to stop the practice.
“Collection of ‘PC’ is rampant in the Third Floor. So, the officials there should be taken to task first. As a legislator, I will soon enter the floor and launch the anti-PC drive from there assaulting corrupts,” said Bahinipati to media outside the assembly.
I dare the CM to arrest me if he has guts, he added.
During zero hour, Leader of Opposition, Narasingha Mishra criticised the government over growing collection of ‘PC’ in state.
He also cited an example of an engineer in Bolangir who was allegedly transferred under the pressure of MP AU Singh Deo as he opposed graft in his office.
However, the official who replaced the engineer has faced a number of vigilance cases, Mishra said.
BJP legislature party chief KV Singh Deo supported the Leader of Opposition.
The opposition leader also criticised the controversial statement of Minister Damodar Rout who had said complete removal of ‘PC’ culture is impossible.
The minister had earlier said that removing ‘PC’ completely is a difficult task as the culture has been prevalent since British rule.
