Bhubaneswar: The infighting in the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee has become deeper after the party’s poor performance in panchayat polls. Senior legislators in the party Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Prafulla Majhi and veteran leader Ananta Sethi were given show cause notices today by the party’s disciplinary committee.
The move was taken by the PCC leadership as these members had spoken against the state in charge of the Congress and AICC general secretary BK Hariprasad as well as PCC president Prasad Harichandan in media.
Tara and Prafulla however deny getting any show cause notice. PCC disciplinary committee chairman Sandhya Mohapatra confirmed that the notices have been sent to these three leaders.
Tara said, “I have never said anything wrong and specially against the party.” All three leaders have said they will reply if they get the notice.
Earlier, while Tara had said it is fair that PCC president resigns after the party’s wipe out in panchayat polls, Prafulla Majhi had raised the issue of horsetrading in Sundergarh Congress for Rs 1 crore and Ananta had also demanded that the PCC president leave his post after the poor show in the rural polls.
