Puri: The nine-member team constituted by the district administration to probe into the land fraud of the crematorium has submitted its preliminary report today to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) AB Ota of central Range.
As per the sources, the team looked into the land records since 1989 of the 16.735-acre land allotted for the crematorium and 158 plots out of 242 were found to be registered in the name of different people. However, the investigating team has traced the stairs to regain the land in its report which will be submitted by the RDC to the government.
Within a week’s time, the team verified records of past 90 years and has collected the data tracing various lands under Swargadwara allotted to various parties.
“We have studied the records and identified the 16 acre allotted land of Swargadwara. We have also traced the 242 plots and examined the details,” informed Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal.
The panel will submit the report based on plot-wise detailed probe of land under the custody of Shankacharya which had been allotted for crematorium by Shankacharya mutt.
