Sushmita Sen ready for comeback in new avatar
Mumbai: Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen, after a huge gap of eight years is now set to bounce back in her upcoming movie, in a whole new avatar. She will be seen in a role of a top cop in her next untitled.
According to reports, Sushmita revealed that she has been reading a few scripts for a while now. She was approached for a movie that plays out in a small town in which her character is the protagonist. It’s a crime-based drama set in Madhya Pradesh wherein she plays a role of tough cop.
The makers decided to alter the script and make the necessary changes, post which, she gave a go ahead. The modalities are currently being worked out. Once that is done, she will sign on the dotted line, said a source.
Sushmita made her acting debut with the Hindi film Dastak in 1996 and she rose to prominence by featuring as the female lead in several top-grossing films including Sirf Tum, Hindustan Ki Kasam and the comedy Biwi No.1, Aankhen, Main Hoon Na– her biggest commercial success so far, and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?.
She also received critical recognition with female-oriented roles in films such as Filhaal, Samay: When Time Strikes, Chingaari and Zindaggi Rocks. The diva was away from the industry from eight years after her last movie ‘No Problem’.
