Bhubaneswar: Former bureaucrat Sunil Mishra has been appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner of Odisha, an official release said on Wednesday.
Following a crucial selection committee meeting held on October 6 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Mishra’s name was finalized with unanimity.
Mishra’s name was in contention for the post after the State Government nominated his name. Besides him other names like Additional Chief Secretary in CM Office UN Behera and retired Chief Secretary SK Panda were also considered for the post.
Mishra a retired Director General of Income Tax in Karnataka and Goa government will succeed TK Mishra for the post which has been lying vacant for the last two years, sources said.
