New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today came down heavily on Delhi Police for their delay in investigating the Sunanda Pushkar murder case and said it will look into it if required.
The court asked the police to inform it about the status of probe into Pushkar’s mysterious death within two weeks.
The court was hearing a plea by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy for a court-monitored probe by a multi-disciplinary Special Investigation Team led by the CBI into Pushkar’s death.
However, the Delhi Police claimed there was no delay in its probe. They said a technical investigation was not totally in their hands since the AIIMS and some foreign agencies were also involved.
Pushkar, wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in a five-star hotel room in Delhi in January 2014.
