Bhubaneswar: Central Range Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) AB Otta who is investigating into the SUM tragedy on Thursday recorded statements of witnesses who had filed affidavits before the commission here.
As per sources, RDC recorded statements of ADMO, DMET, Joint DMET, casualty officer of SUM hospital.
The commission had notified 21 persons to show up and keep their views on the case. Earlier on Tuesday out of 20 persons who were sent notice to depose only three showed up while yesterday only five out of 20 kept their stance before the commission.
RDC said those who did not turn up will be given one more chance on December 6 to show up and keep their views. “Many witnesses who were not present had informed that their affidavits would be enough since they had nothing more to say on the case,” Otta said.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the horrific fire accident which occurred in the emergency dialysis ward of the city based SUM hospital on October 17th have so far claimed 31 lives.
