Bhubaneswar: A day after resigned from Congress party, on Tuesday Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) spokesperson Sulochana Das formally joined BJD in presence of party president Naveen Patnaik at his residence here.
The BJD supremo said, “I welcome Sulochana Das to the Biju Janata Dal. This will strengthen our party.”
Similarly, in her reactions, the former OPCC spokesperson Das said, “I hope to work for the betterment of the people of Odisha under the leadership of the Chief Minister. I still have the guts to raise voice against injustice and BJD has assured me. I’ll discharge all the responsibilities assigned to me.”
On the other hand, Dr. Damodar Rout, senior leader of BJD said over Das’s joining” She had been criticising the BJD saying that it has done nothing for the State in last 17 years of rule. She also alleging that women’s are not safe in BJD. Now, she felt that BJD is safe and joined it”.
Notably, Sulochana das resigned from the party on Mondy.
She informed about her resignation through social media that “I have resigned from Congress party”.
Earlier in the day, she met BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik fuelling speculation of joining the BJD soon.
