Students walk 20 km to complain before Mayurbhanj collector
Baripada: As many as 12 students of Brahmanagaon residential school in Bangiriposi of Mayurbhanj district walked around 20 km jumping hostel walls to meet the district collector and put their grievance.
They complained about non-availability of teachers in the school and the problems facing in school.
According to reports, the students have been facing a lot of inconvenience due to absence of teachers in the school. They have alleged that teachers of Ghatkumari UG High School have been deputed since one year to teach them, but in vain.
They also alleged that no one paid any heed despite repeated complaints to the District Education Officer (DEO), Block Development Officer (BDO) and the collector grievance hearing cell regarding the issue.
However, they have not been able to meet the collector; the students had a discussion with the DEO and submitted a written complaint to him.
