Bhubaneswar: City auto-rickshaw drivers association have threatened to go for a state wide agitation on March 22 if the government does not with draw hike in taxes and other regulations imposed on movement of auto rickshaws in urban areas.
General Secretary of All Orissa Auto Chhalak Mahasangha Padman Samal has said that the administration has planned to impose curbs on movement of auto-richshaws in urban areas. It has also increased the rates of various taxes which will affect the auto drivers. So in a bid, they have requested the government to consider their issues.
Listing their demands, the members have sought for designated parking locations for auto-richshaws. They also sought fare fixation and action against online transport operators, who they say are exploiting commuters.
