Bhubaneswar: A day after the announcement of much-awaited implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the employees of various government departments and members of employees’ associations met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat on Wednesday and thanked him for the decision.
About 4.5 lakh serving state government employees and 3.5 lakh retired state government employees will get enhanced emoluments and higher pensions respectively. Annual additional expenditure on this count would be about Rs 4500 crores.
This implementation has come as a Durga Puja gift for the employees and the pensioners as the revised pay will be effective from September, 2017.
The Chief Minister has instructed to implement the 7th Pay Commission Recommendations from 1 January 2016.
