Bhubaneswar: The large number of vacancies in government hospitals for specialists in various medical disciplines may now be fulfilled soon with the state government approving a two year PG Diploma course by College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai.
The positions for specialists are lying vacant in state run medicals and hospitals despite PG doctors emerging from the three major state run medical colleges of the state. While specialists are needed for the general public visiting government hospitals, not many specialists are available for various diseases and health issues.
Hence, the two year long PG Diploma course for specialisation in medical disciplines by College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai has been approved and the Health and Family Welfare department has published an advertisement regarding the same. As per the advertisement, the department announces that the course has been approved after sufficient inspection and will now be provided at Capital Hospital and all other government district headquarter hospitals. This will help in filling the vacant posts for specialists.
