Sringar: Six people died when security forces opened fire on mobs attacking polling stations and poll personnel in Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Polling for by-election of Srinagar Lok Sabha seat and ten assembly constituencies in eight states are being held on Sunday.
Violence was also reported from Madhya Pradesh, in which several people were said to be injured.
Hundreds of protestors stormed a polling station at Pakherpora in Chrar-e-Sharief area of Budgam district and ransacked the building, officials said.
As per sources, several others injured as security forces opened fire on rampaging mobs in various parts of this Lok Sabha constituency on Sundau.
Notably, elections will be held in 3 more states on April 12. The counting of votes will take place on April 13 and April 15.
