South Africa envoy meets BMC authorities
Bhubaneswar: South Africa High Commissioner to India Fracne Murole on the 3-day visit to Odisha interacted with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials on various development projects and also spoke on his homeland’s successful projects related to urban life.
Meanwhile, he indicated that South Africa is going to tie up with the State Government for some important projects and shall extend its help.
One of the South Africa’s leading cites will be announced as Sister City with Bhubaneswar.
As per the bilateral relationship of India and South Africa, the latter has the friendly rights to take up development projects in any State of India. With advantage of this bilateral relationship, the High Commissioner of SA has emphasized on exchange of learning between Bhubaneswar and South African cities.
A presentation was given by City Engineer of BMC and Deputy Commissioner Srimant Misra on Smart City projects and other development initiatives of BMC.
Morule appreciated various welfare projects of the BMC and also advised on issues related to tax collection, timely service delivery and development of public utility.
It may be noted that Morule was a Mayor prior to his current job and had developed his city with full of green space which is now known as Rose City.
He has also requested for exchange of manpower to his city and Bhubaneswar as well. So that officers and public representatives like corporators and Mayor can learn each other.
Later, the High Commissioner had a meeting with Housing and Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari.
