Six more Swine Flu cases in Odisha, total cases rise to 24


Bhubaneswar: Even though the state government asserts that it is ‘fully prepared’ to tackle the Swine Flu situation, the H1N1 virus is simultaneously spreading its tentacles with six more persons being tested positive on Friday taking the total number to 24.

Out of 16 samples those were tested on August 4, six were found positive out of which four were found positive from state capital and the other two from Cuttack and Sundargarh one each.

So far, 154 samples have been tested and 24 have been found positive for H1N1 virus.

Meanwhile, the State government on the other hand issued special guidelines for different hospitals to tackle cases of Swine Flu. The health department also issued dos and don’ts for general public and increased awareness drive to prevent the spread of Swine Flu.

The Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in the city has been recommended for testing of throat swabs for H1N1 free of cost.
