Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi has directed officials to take necessary action to ensure that the signboards of shops, other business establishments and markets are written in Odia language.
In fact, the State Government has incorporated Odia in the OSWAS software for official work in the language.
Reviewing the implementation of Odia language in Government work on Monday, Padhi also directed officials to ensure that official documents are transacted in Odia language, said sources.
Sources said the Chief Secretary directed the Works and Rural Development Department Secretaries to have Odia signage on roadsides.
The Odia Language and Research Organisation has prepared the software as directed by the Chief Secretary earlier. Padhi asked the officials to connect this software with the Microsoft Office software within a month’s time, the sources said.
Notably, the State Government has prepared two aids ‘Prasasan Sabdakosh’ and ‘Bhasa Sahachar’ to help in dispensation of Government work.
