Bhubaneswar: Former Team India batsman Shiv Sundar Das has been appointed as the new Chief coach of Odisha Cricket Team after replacing another former International bowler Debashis Mohanty, informed Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).
Mohanty had earlier expressed his unwillingness to work with the team citing personal reasons. He had not even accompanied the Odisha Ranji team on two occasions. If rumours are to be believed, Mohanty had strained relations with few senior players of the team.
Mohanty was appointed as the coach of Odisha Ranji team in January, 2011 after replacing Australian batsman Michael Bevan.
Shiv Sundar Das had represented India in 23 test matches and scored 1,326 runs at an average of 34.89 with 2 centuries and 9 half centuries to his name.
