Bhubaneswar: The Fitment Committee instituted for working out recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission discussed modalities of the pay revision and other allied aspects with representatives of 20 employees’ organizations here on Friday.
Issues like human resource, promotion, grade pay revision and some others were discussed during the meeting.
The committee which is headed by Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan will meet 178 different employee groups in the next week and will consider suggestions on the implementation of pay revision.
Notably, the committee comprising Balakrishnan and five others including Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, Forest and Environment principal secretary Suresh Mohapatra, Finance principal secretary Tuhin Kant Pandey, two Special Secretaries of Finance Department Ashok Meena and Ashiwni Mishra (IA & AS) was set up by the state government on October 31 last month to work out the different aspects of the recommendations of pay commission to implement the seventh central pay commission.
With the pay revision coming into effect it will benefit more than 4 lakh state government employees and about three lakh pensioners. Allowances like DA which constitutes about 63 per cent of the pay hike recommendations will be implemented retrospectively from August 2016.
