Bhubaneswar: The Seva paper mill at Jeypore in Koraput district is expected to resume production within 2-3 months after a thorough discussion going to be held in a meeting called up by Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
Minister Debi Mishra nods to a differed proposal demanded by Opposition leader Tara Prasad Bahinipation on Monday in the Assembly that related to restarting production in the Seva paper mill.
Considering the interests of the employees and laborers who worked at the paper mill, Bahinipati demanded the government to find a way for resuming production in the paper mill as soon as possible.
Minister Debi Mishra said, the government has planned for organizing a meeting on April 7 to discuss various factors related with reopening the paper mill and will provide every possible support to the company during its manufacturing.
Earlier, the plant’s production was halted on April 6 last year after the mill started incurring losses and faced extreme financial crisis.
Realizing the tragic situation which is leading to its closure, the company’s CMD had said, if the situation continues like this, there would be no option for the management but to shut down the plant.
