Bhubaneswar: A seminar on sanitation and upkeep of railway stations was organised today at Bhubaneswar Railway Station as a part of Swachhata initiative. The theme of the Swachhata Pakhawada on the second day was “Swachhata Sambad”.
Dr. Prabhat Kumar Pattnaik, Sr. Divisional Medical Officer of Khurda Road and Nirakar Das, senior public relations officer, spoke on various aspects of cleanliness and sanitation on the occasion. JP Panda, Chief Health Director of East Coast Railway (ECoR) graced the occasion a chief guest.
RK Satapathy and RC Mahapatra from Pipili Sankrutika Sanha, Chittaranjan Nayak, station director of Bhubaneswar and Subrat Mandal, assistant health officer and Bimal Misra of Bharat Scout and Guides also spoke of the occasion.
Volunteers of Bharat Scout and Guides, Pipli Sanskrukita Sangha, Child Help Line and Society for Children attended the seminar. Alok Singh, chief health inspector coordinated the programme.
Painting and poster competition on the theme of cleanliness was organised at Community Hall, Rail Vihar. Dr. Prabhat Kumar, chief personal officer of ECoR organised the competition. A total number of 75 school children of railway employees took part in the competition.
