SC vacates stay, allows admission and counseling to IITs

New Delhi: In a big relief to students, the Supreme Court on Monday lifted stay and allowed the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country to conduct further counselling and admission on the basis of the results of the IIT-JEE (Advance) 2017 results.

Dismissing petitions challenging the award of grace marks, the court said the printing errors should not be repeated.

The court on Friday had put on hold admissions to IITs, National Institutes of Technology and other colleges over awarding of bonus marks in JEE, an all-India examination taken by aspiring engineers.
