New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the Centre’s plea to stay the petitions filed against demonetisation in High Courts and lower Courts across the country.
Moreover, the SC warned that people standing in long queues for hours every day for scarce cash could turn riotous and asked the Centre to take urgent measures.
Now people have started becoming frantic for money. It is a serious issue and the entire population is affected. There could be a riot, a bench comprising chief justice TS Thakur and and Justice AR Dave said.
“People are going to the Courts for relief. We can’t shut our doors for people,” the bench said.
