New Delhi: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography Playing It My Way has been lauded with the 14th Raymond Crossword Book of the Year award in the autobiography category on Tuesday.
Penned by renowned cricket historian, writer and a close friend of Sachin, Boria Majumdar, , the book chronicled the life and career of the master blaster. It has won many laurels over the last two years since it was released back on 2014 including a place in the elite Limca Book of Records for being the best selling adult hardback in both fiction and non-fiction category.
It book allows a rare glimpse into the most charismatic player the game has ever seen who enamoured the imagination of the cricketing world for a quarter of century.
The book stormed into the market breaking all records with a massive Rs 13.51 crore in terms of retail value earnings.
Speaking on the win, Tendulkar showed his heartiest gratitude to his fans saying he could nt thank fans more enough for having been a part of his journey during his playing time and also now during second innings of life.
“Support of fans continues to be invaluable. Playing It My Way captured my journey in the cricketing world and life outside cricket. I’m delighted to know that the book has won the Popular Choice Award,” Sachin said.
Published by Hachette India and Boria Majumdar the book has been a treat for cricket fans and connoisseurs.
