Bhubaneswar: Rich tributes were paid to former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik across the state on his 21st death anniversary of the legendary leader today.
Political leaders cutting across party lines and people from all walks of life paid rich tributes to Patnaik and recalled his leadership on the occasion.
CM Naveen Patnaik offered floral tributes to his father Biju Patnaik at State Assembly premises and Forest Park here. He later visited the Biju Patnaik memorial near Swargadwar in Puri and offered tribute to the legendary leader, after whom the BJD was named.
Similarly, members and workers of the ruling BJD party gathered at the banks of Bindu Sagar pond near Sri Lingaraj Temple in the city led by State Culture Minister Ashok Panda and MP Prasanna Patasani and observed the ‘Tila Tarpan’ ritual.
BJD has planned a host of events to mark the day across the state and lined up several public meetings to recall the late visionary.
