Over the years, I have been attending the event and I am happy to see the progress made, particularly in the spheres of increasing use of scientific aids in investigation and inculcation of scientific temper amongst the police personnel, the Chief Minister said.

Investigation of offences against women, children, dalits and tribal has to be done in a priority basis and in a meticulous manner. My government has initiated various steps to ensure enhanced security of women. We have also put in place systems for close monitoring of crimes against women. We have also launched various campaigns to trace and rehabilitate missing children within and outside the state, he added.

I am happy that Economic Offences Wing and Special Task Force have handled economic offences and organized crimes in an effective manner. The state police has also made excellent strides in investigation of cyber crimes. We intend to upgrade our capabilities in the field of cyber crime investigation as well. Recently three new cyber crime police stations at Rourkela, Sambalpur and Berhampur have been sanctioned and a few more are in the pipeline, he further added.
