Bhubaneswar: The BS III vehicles have been banned for sale from April 1 by Supreme Court but customers in the city lined up to buy motorcycles at heavy discounts on March 30 and 31 itself. Now, customers are now facing issues in registration of over 4,000 new bikes.
As per sources, there was sale of 14,586 bikes after Supreme Court’s direction regrading BS II vehicles ban. RTO officials said everyday the city witnesses sale of 1500 bikes every day while during festivities the sale rises to 2000.
But the sale increased so fast on March 30 and 31 that even the online registration facility crashed with the rush for online application. There is a beeline for manual registration too.
