Recruitment of 14087 Sikhya Sahayaks, code of ethics for Varsity staffs proposed in education budget
Bhubaneswar: The school and mass education department has allocated 897.11 crore of estimated expenditure for financial year 2017-18 in the ongoing budget session at Odisha Assembly.
While addressing the House Minister of School and Mass education Debi Prasad Mishra said, ‘The department is taking initiatives to recruit as many as 14087 Sikhya Sahayaks and 6051 contractual teachers in primary and secondary schools”.
Similarly, Minister of Higher Education Dr Pradip Panigrahi allocates Rs 2094.72 crore for the financial year 2017-18. He informed, Code of Professional Ethics will be ensued for teaching and non teaching staffs of colleges and varsities of the state.
The budget proposes setting up of the Odia Language and Literature University in the state and to amend the University law of 1969.
As Odisha Assembly witnessed stormy session on Thursday following ruckus by Opposition over farmer suicide issue, the budget linked to state’s education has been placed in the budget session of the house.
